BOYS TENNIS TOURNEY MATCHUPS ANNOUNCED
With sectional action set to begin on Wednesday, the IHSAA drew the matchups for the latter three levels of the 43rd annual boys tennis team tournament this morning in Indianapolis.

Boys sectional matches for the 303 teams run through Saturday at 64 sites with the survivors advancing to 16 regional tournaments. Those semifinal matches are set for Tuesday, Oct. 6, and championships on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The four semi-states will be played Saturday, Oct.10, and the state finals Friday, Oct. 16, and Saturday, Oct. 17, in Indianapolis.

A new format will be used in this year’s semi-state and state finals rounds. As approved by the IHSAA Executive Committee on Aug. 5, four teams will continue to advance to four semi-state sites but the winner of each of the two matches will now advance to the following weekend’s state finals. Those eight remaining teams will square off at North Central High School in Indianapolis in a Friday-Saturday format. Four quarterfinal matches scheduled for mid-afternoon on Friday will be followed by two semifinal matches on Saturday morning and the state championship match Saturday afternoon. The consolation match, which previously determined the third and fourth place teams, will be discontinued.

Sectional pairings, drawn last night by the 64 host sites, will be posted to the boys tennis tournament page at www.ihsaa.org as they are reported.

Regional pairings in the individual tournament of singles and doubles players are also included below.
