IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (5-16-22)
“Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana”
Making excuses for whatever reason is one of my pet peeves. Are you someone who always comes up with an excuse when you do something wrong, are late for class, didn’t do your homework, or have a bad game or event?
Whether you are a freshman or senior, make it a priority to stop it, never another excuse, even if it’s valid.
Excuse making happens often when you are younger, it’s part of the growing up stage. It’s easy to say when you are in grade school that your parents didn’t remind you, you ran out of time, you forgot. Whatever the reason, you had the answers.
Part of growing up and being a responsible person falls on you. In fact, by the time you are in high school the “good excuse reason” should no longer be in your vocabulary. Keep it in your rear view mirror and vow to never making excuses again!!
